Position Overview

The Department of Health in Gauteng invites applications for SNR Operator Level 3 within the Directorate of Laundry Services. There are 2 posts available at the Dunswart Provincial Laundry, offering an annual salary of R 163 380 – 192 810, plus benefits.

This role involves the operation and maintenance of industrial laundry machinery, ensuring high-quality output while adhering to safety and hygiene standards.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Education: Grade 10 with 3 years’ laundry experience or Grade 12 with 1 year of laundry experience.
  • Skills: Ability to read and write, good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Additional Skills: Computer literacy is an advantage.
  • Experience: Previous laundry experience is required.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work night shifts.

Key Duties

The SNR Operator Level 3 will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring water level, air pressure, and steam supply before operating CBW industrial machinery.
  • Mixing chemicals for laundry processes.
  • Inspecting, monitoring, and operating equipment; cleaning and programming machines.
  • Loading, weighing, and handling linen.
  • Cleaning filters and reporting equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintaining quality and safety standards, including entering machines to remove blockages.
  • Keeping production statistics.
  • Providing formal and informal training to operators.
  • Ensuring workplace cleanliness and wearing PPE.
  • Performing other departmental tasks as required.

Candidates will undergo practical testing on CBW machines after interviews.
