Key Responsibilities

The Medical Officer will:

  • Deliver 24-hour Urology services, ensuring patient care is safe, cost-effective, and efficient.
  • Manage the Urology department, including clinics, ward rounds, and interdepartmental consultations.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols for patients and departmental management.
  • Perform Urology procedures and assist in General Surgery and Trauma duties.
  • Mentor and guide Medical Interns, Junior Medical Officers, and other staff.
  • Maintain accurate health records and participate in departmental audits.
  • Collaborate with hospital management and other agencies to enhance service delivery.
  • Participate in academic programs and continuous professional development.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must have:

  • MBCHB degree or equivalent
  • Registration with HPCSA as an Independent Medical Practitioner
  • Proof of current HPCSA registration
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Medical Officer or Registrar in Urology
  • FCS(URO) exam qualification is an advantage
